Bald Eagle lays eggs
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox28 April 2007: The keepers at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington Illinois were recently surprised when the female eagle (named Beauty) they have on display suddenly nested and produced 2 eggs. The male (named Mathata, pictured) that is in the same display is considered to be only one of the possible suitors. The other possible suitor is a wild eagle that has suddenly appeared at the zoo. The 2 captive birds are both unable to fly due to injuries and have been on display at the zoo for 13 years. These are the first eggs produced during that time. The eggs have not been examined to determine if they are fertile. (Photo by Alan Look)
