Blessing of the Bikes in Heyworth is an annual event and fundraiser for the local Guardians of the Children chapter. The band providing the entertainment this year (2023) was local cover band Kickapoo Creek.

June 11, 2022 The Bloomington Gold Corvette Tour through McLean County featured a line of Corvette sports cars down a section of the Mother Road, US Route 66 north east of Normal. The Parade lasted approximately a half hour and by on bystanders account featured approximately 300 automobiles. Bloomington Gold began in 1973 as the Corvette Corral and this was the 50th anniversary show.

An explosion and fire at the BioUrja plant on May 11th, 2022 leaves about $2,000,000 (2 Million) dollars worth of damage to it’s silos and plant infrastructure. BioUrja began as a bioethanol company and has evolved into a supplier of natural gas and refined petroleum products.

After a document was leaked from the Supreme Court of the United States suggesting that the 1973 Roe v Wade decision that legalized abortion could be over turned, a rally was organized and held at the McLean County Museum of History (the old courthouse) to voice support to leave the decision in place.

Make Music Normal is an event hosted in part by the Town of Normal Illinois. Streets are closed up and multiple stages are set up in a 3 block area of Uptown Normal where dozens of bands perform through out the day. The event is gear towards making music a normal part of everyday life. Event in 2018 was held on June 23rd.

Constitution Trail is a multi-purpose outdoor recreational space in Bloomington - Normal Illinois. The original path was created from right away vacated by the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and purchased by the Twin Cities. It has grown several times using other right aways that have become available. The trail is used by non-motorized vehicles such as bicycles, runners, walkers, and rollerbladers.
